Nick Shirley exposed fraud on a national level. His work is familiar to Americans across the country. His Minnesota reporting helped uncover more than $100 million in alleged fraud.

Then, Governor Newsom signed the “Stop Nick Shirley Act.” It threatens Nick's ability to report on fraud in the State of California by allowing groups of people, including alleged fraudsters, to demand the removal of content he creates and also subjects him to financial liability.
